Trailing Thoughts

Well – here is the situation: This past weekend I went to New York again with my mother. We left early saturday morning and came back late tuesday night. Saturday was a good day – we visited some distant family and then went out to dinner and saw a musical… dinner was at Picholine on w. 64th st. and it was okay – some things a little odd for my tastes… they are known for there cheese collection… but I guess you must be rich to understand how smelly cheese is a wonderful treat… and we saw Spamalot… it has the one guy from frasier in it and tim curry… it was semi amusing… and probably more so if I watched monty python recently not 10 years ago… Sunday was a great day… I went shopping and then I had fourth row center seats for Beauty and the Beast which is always an enjoyable performance… we at a wonderful dinner at the Park Avenue Cafe… they had excellent food and excellent dessert…. Monday I spent the day shopping and I went to China town… I did not buy as much this time but it was still fun… the subways are so warm though but the trains were airconditioned. Then I went to Per Se, a french restaurant in the Time Warner building… they had a beautiful place setting and the food was beautiful to look at but again a little strange for me… most likely because I am adverse to sea food.. but it still was a wonderful time. Tuesday I went to the museum… I learned my lesson last time in november – they are closed on mondays – I walked all the way there last time to discover it was closed…. this time I waited until Tuesday and I took a taxi! After spending a few enjoyable hours at the museum it was time to start walking back to the hotel… on my way through central park I had my portrait sketched by a guy– it took over an hour but it is a good likeness and then I shopped my way back to the hotel… we stay at the New York Palace which is right there in the heart of everything.
I discovered 2 things about New York City after the trip …
1) I love new york city (still)
2) New york city really smells in the warm summer weather and visiting in November is much better
As an aside note… my hard drive crashed – how I have NO idea… I turned off my computer saturday morning and booted it back up fine early wednesday morning and then later in the morning i looked at my computer and something failed and I tried booting it and I had a hard disk read error and strange clicking noises…. how wonderful…
The bad part about these trips I take with my mother is that I do not get to see Madhujit and when I do not see him for the day I feel like something is missing… so of course even arriving home after midnight I had to go see Madhujit for a few minutes!

Well we did it… we finally broke down and purchased a hottub… but it will not be installed until next friday. We purchased the hottub through Lighthouse – it seemed like it was the best one for the money that we were willing to spend. It was a Viking, Royale model. More will come once we get it installed.
Additionally Madhujit purchased a SUV… a buick– it was used but the price was right and it was in relatively decent shape so we decided to go for it… now when more than 2 people travel with the dogs we don’t have to deal with dog butt…. yes those moments we the dog will not sit still and is inbetween the 2 people in the back seat so their rears end up in your face.
I am doing a lot of reading for this wedding. I really would like to have all major decisions made by the time Madhujit’s parents leave next month- but we will see.
Not much else is new…
Last weekend we attending the Toledo Hospital Rib Off at a local doctors house and it was fun but it was in the middle of the afternoon and it was really warm… but that will be about the same time of our wedding next year.
Yeap that’s it.

My favorite ( besides the food network) tv show that is newer is Monk on USA. Great show and it is very amusing ( The test Madhujit also enjoys watching it!). I would love to be home right now, but only 30 minutes left to go…
It is very strange – it has been a horrible couple of days at work just because 1 out of 2 prescriptions had something wrong with them.
I have the next 4 days off so I can take a moment to relax during my break and then I work the next weekend and then the next weekend I am off to new york and then I am off to whatever type of vacation madhujit and I plan on taking.
