The house is ours… the real stuff now goes on.

As you know, we bought a house in Holland, Oh. It is a beautiful house, and we are going to try to be moved in by Saturday. We have ran into a few issues. One that sticks out in my mind is the argument Madhujit and I had over the wall in the kitchen. Well- I hated the wallpaper in the kitchen and that was the first thing to go… we had some issues removing it and lots of the drywall came off with the wallpaper. Madhujit did not want to get it fixed right away, but I did — so we fought and so on… we did end up getting it fixed and the kitchen is now painted a pretty yellow called warm summer. We will sponge gold on it to add some texture. I have also painted the living room a light green, dubbed Spring Hill. This we will leave plain colored. We are getting the carpets cleaned wednesday, and the fridge delivered Thursday and some of the other furniture delivered Friday and have movers lined up from Saturday….
I discovered the Bombay Company for a place to shop. They have interesting and well priced accessories to decorate the house with. We now own the center consoul table, the asian chairside table, a stool and a couple of lamps from bombay company…
We are still looking for a table for the dining rooms and we will need some stools for the breakfast bar…

What’s going on after Vegas?

Filed under: General — Lady Dobry @ 9:25 am

Our trip is officially over – we all survived the Las Vegas experience. It was an interesting time. John and Rich shared a room at the Stardust casino, while Sibani, Jessica, Felicity, my momma, and I shared a room at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on Karen St. ( Let’s say not very impressed with Hilton – and they were trying to impress me — they wanted me to buy a time share!) and Busia stayed with Bridget and Keith at their home. It was a challenge to get 5 women ready with just 1 bathroom!
Vegas casinos were just what I expected – loud, dirty and smokey but their is a pretty side of Vegas. They have cool mountains to look at that had a variety of rock colors. I loved the sign to watch for wild burros. I would have taken a picture of the sign but I did not get a good shot. We stopped at one of the outlook spots and a little chipmunk ( who is obviously use to being fed) came up and we gave it some airplane nuts. Also we took a scenic route to the Hoover Dam…. on the way they advertised Helicopter Rides for 30 bucks but then we discovered to view the Hoover Dam it was 60 bucks and we said NO!
I am buffet-ed out… I am sick of buffets.
Humm.. I gotta go now…

Las Vegas in a few days

Filed under: General — Lady Dobry @ 8:24 am

Well I am working this entire weekend and all days monday and tuesday but I am excited because then we will be going to las vegas!!!
Madhujit and Mukul will be on their lonesome for about 5 days until we get back. Then we are hopefully going to close on our house- I am excited because this will be my first true house ( well, Madhujit’s and mine) but I will not live there until we get married full time. It is only 5 minutes away from my momma’s house, so the travel time is less.
Tonight Madhujit and I are attending the Technicolor Ball given by the Arts Comission.. Madhujit did not want to go but he is sacrificing himself for the evening… I am looking forward to it… though my dressing room is the closet here at Giant Eagle.
Madhujit and I are considering another puppy. He would like a German Shepherd (purebreed) and I finally will get to name a dog! I have not been able to for my entire time I have had dogs… others have threatened to confuse my dogs therefore having to name them what they want.
My busia was asked out on a date Thursday and she said no! This poor dude found our house and had the guts to ask busia out and she said no… we all gave her a hard time about it.
My mom is fascinated with the concept of “cougars” which is older women going after younger guys… my momma is dating someone a couple of years younger then she is, but the real” cougars” are the ones dating someone more then 10 years younger. It seems to be everywhere on TV, from good morning america and primetime to the new show with Fran…. which will turn out amusing we think.
humm… that is about it…
