Well, I started to feel horrible yesterday– I woke with a sore throat and runny nose and congestion with ringing ears. It got a little better when I took some medication, but yesterday as the day went on, I could not stay at work– I started to feel worse and worse. I went home and slept the whole day and night. I was hoping to feel better in the morning, but that was not the case. I still have a lot of congestion and runny nose. My ears are congested, but atleast the ringing has stopped!
Daisy is a little brat– but we love her anyways– she has been escaping the fence– she squeezes through the smallest holes– anyways she started to run for the street. At this point, we use a long rope to let her out. She is hard to train, and I think that is for a few reasons including she has an independent streak, and there are too many bosses so she is confused!
I worked a lot last year and I almost now have all of my required intern hours that I need– 920 hours last year…. Which is good, because I wanted to be able to get my license right away, but I was worried that I did not have enough hours to take the test right away because I started working in a pharmacy later than most.
The other night I made french onion soup and it was very good– but I think it is easier to go out to eat to have it, it is not worth a 5 hour investment! ( I made homemade beef broth before I was able to make the soup).
I am doing my final presentation for Flower next Wednesday on DKA. I think that would be an interesting subject and I don’t have to worry about mispronouncing everything! Last presentation, I used brand names because they are easier to say, and was told at the end that when presenting, I should use generic names. Which is fine for me, but I have a horrible time saying the names correctly. Growing up, I had a problem with pronounciation and stuttering. I have been better with that, but I still have a hard time with some names. I am lucky that it does not bother me that some words I cannot pronounce. I am okay with it becuase I know I am a relatively intelligent being.
Anyways, I should get back to the ICU and see if any more charts are free so I can complete my monitoring.
